We're excited to announce the launch of FastFinder Analysis 4.15, Lab Management 1.15, Lab Engine 1.3 and Workflow 2.5.
This release of FastFinder Workflow brings support for NGS activities, such as quality and quantity checks, normalization and pooling, as well as a new set of instruments that are supported.
Workflow users are also provided with more insights via order duration and sample failure dashboards in the new release of FastFinder Lab Management.
This new FastFinder platform release also brings several improvements and bug fixes, as is described in the specific release notes of Analysis 4.15, Lab management 1.15, Workflow 2.5 and Lab Engine 1.3.
New features
This release of FastFinder Workflow extends the workflow solution to support NGS activities, such as quality and quantity, normalization and pooling.
In quality and quantity activities the sample concentration, DV200, RIN, Rine, A260/A280, A260/A230 and RNA IQ measurements can be tracked and automatically verified against predefined acceptance criteria, such that the user is automatically informed when a sample doesn’t meet the expected standards.
During a normalization activity, the required sample volume and diluent volume are automatically computed, based on previously entered sample concentration, e.g. from a quality and quantity activity, as well as a predefined target concentration and target volume.
In the new pooling activity, multiple samples can be pooled into a tube while ensuring the traceability of each pool back to its original source samples.
At the same time, changes are done to make Workflow more independent from Analysis, by introducing protocols and allowing order exports to LIMS. More info on the exported CSV can be found here.
Finally, some new instruments are supported: BioAnalyzer, TapeStation, Nanodrop, Qubit, PurePrep LVD, PurePrep AM96, PurePrep FTR, PurePrep pooling centrifuge, Thermomixer.
Fixed bugs
- Multi-well selection on a plate fails after selecting multiple wells
- Link to run in Inventory assumes the run is completed
- There is no tooltip for truncated section names in run
- Samples in queue are not correctly handled when the sample IDs have been updated in-run
- Inventory filter resets after updating sample parameters
- Instruments without instrument ID are shown in the pending files list
- It is possible to set the current volume higher than the initial volume
- State of the resource is incorrect when the initial volume is updated
- It is possible to add a comment after a step is completed
- It is not possible to update the volume of a sample on bench
- A user can start an activity, even when the volume is 0
- It is possible to fail or create new samples after the resource has been stored
- Store instrument section doesn’t take into account failure reasons
- Tooltip with re-queue failure reason is not shown in a (completed) run
- Re-queuing is not triggered upon updates in Inventory
- Resources for plates are incorrectly queued on a tubes queue
- An empty controls table Is shown even when no controls are defined in workflow
- Fail sample button is available even when there are no failure reasons available
- Audit logs are not generated when a file is uploaded twice, a file with unknown input barcodes is uploaded, a file with an unknown instrument is uploaded, and a file without an instrument identifier is uploaded
- Sample highlights are not working for archived runs
- Files uploaded before the run is started are not automatically linked to the run
- Discriminator is not saved on Sample-Order ID- assay combination when importing orders
- Warnings are shown over the carrier title
- Scroll bar doesn’t show in Inventory when consulting a resource’s details
