With Admin privileges (user role Admin), you can access Team to get an overview of all team members having access to the different FastFinder modules, change access, create new users or inactivate existing users.
It is not possible to delete users once they have confirmed their account due to audit trail reasons.
Users identified with a guest user icon have access to other FastFinder environments. Their name details can only be changed on their main account.
User Roles
There are three different roles a user can be assigned to (either explicitly or implicitly). This will determine the extent of accessibility to the platform and assay configuration/settings and actions to be executed.
Admin
The user is allowed to make changes in Lab configuration (i.e. assay plugins, instruments, workflows) and Settings (i.e., general laboratory settings and user management).
Authorizer
The user is allowed to authorize analyses. The user cannot make any changes in Lab configuration or Settings.
Standard (implicit)
The user can access the analysis and make changes to the results (fully audit trailed), but cannot authorize the analysis. This role is implicitly assigned when no other roles are appointed.
A user can have multiple roles and they can be updated at any time by Admin users.
Add new users
In FastFinder, user accounts can be created to allow relevant personnel to use the software according to their responsibilities. Only Admin users can add new users and make modifications to an existing user account.
- Go to Team
- Click on '+ Add user'
- In the pop-up screen, complete the form:
- Fill in the empty fields: First name, Last name and Email
- Select the correct role(s) for this user
Note: it is also possible to not select a specific role. In this case, the user will be able to use FastFinder and make adjustments to the analysis results (Standard user, fully audit trailed). However, the user will not be able to authorize the analysis.- Admin: the user can authorize analyses. Additionally, the user is able to make adjustments to assay configurations and manage (new) users.
- Authorizer: the user can authorize analyses.
- Select the applications to which the user needs access.
- Click on 'Save'
New users will receive an email with more information to confirm their account (see Login).
