General
FastFinder Studio 1.3 enables the creation of FastFinder Assay Plugins that are compatible for use in FastFinder Workflow, Analysis and Lab Management. With FastFinder Studio, labs can manage low to moderately complex assays without having to rely on UgenTec’s Customer team and can control key assay parameters right from within FastFinder.
This new release supports the creation of assay plugins from the PCR setup screen in FF Analysis. This feature is currently only supported for CFX, ABI7500, Quantstudio 3, 5, 5Dx, 6 Flex/Pro, 7 Flex/Pro, 12K Flex & ViiA7 instruments.
Next to that, it is now possible to sort multiple Cq, baseline corrected end fluorescence and concentration cutoffs. Additionally, quantitative standards can now be selected in simple Cq and baseline corrected end fluorescence cutoffs.
Also, Studio v1.3 will use the latest version of our algorithm (v50) that supports the addition of reference curves to improve curve calling. Importantly, the new algorithm is only compatible with FF Analysis 4.12 and higher.
Lastly, the application has been updated with the new Velsera design.

Studio 1.3.5 (February 28, 2024)
Improvements
- New assays and existing assays for which no plugin was published before Studio v1.3.5 will use the latest version of our algorithm (v51). Existing assays for which an assay plugin has been published will keep using that version unless the algorithm is updated manually to the latest version.
Studio 1.3.4 (January 18, 2024)
Bug fixes
- We fixed a bug where the ordering of the dyes in the mixes was not correct in the assay details.
- The support email and release notes links are now up-to-date, providing easy access to the latest support and information.
- We fixed a bug making it impossible to clear the rules when using the basic rule builder (matrix).

- It is now possible to perform concentration correction.
Studio 1.3.3 (September 14, 2023)
Bug fixes
- We fixed a bug where an assay was incorrectly published when the comment exceeded the maximum limit (400 characters). A warning is now shown if the comment exceeds the limit. Additionally, we increased the limit to 2000 characters.
Improvements
- In the cutoff blocks “Control ΔRn end fluorescence ratio” and “Target ΔRn end fluorescence ratio”, the maximum fluorescence ratio is increased to 200% (from 100%).
- In the cutoff blocks “Control ΔCq cutoff” and “Control ΔRn end fluorescence ratio”, it is now possible to select controls along with the samples such that a comparison can be made between controls.
- The autogenerated rule handling inconclusive algorithm results was updated. The rule now checks targets that contain the algorithm label Inconclusive regardless of the outcome (e.g. Detected / Not detected).
Studio 1.3.1 (July 18, 2023)

Existing assays will keep using the version that was released with Studio 1.0 (v34), Studio 1.1 (v41) or Studio 1.2 (v42). With the exception that assays created in Studio 1.0 (v34) and using the calling method ‘PCR instrument’ (which uses curve calls & Cqs from the Instrument), will be published with algorithm v50 since this feature is not compatible with v34.
- Important: The intended use for the qPCR amplification algorithm is specifically in high throughput assay plugin configurations (relative high number of samples with low number of targets) with positive and negative control samples present on the plate.
Fixed bugs
The following issues have been fixed in this release:
- If target mapping is not yet done, no warning is shown when the user attempts to autogenerate the rules.
- When the user changes the calling method to PCR instrument for an existing AP, it would contain the current instead of the latest available algorithm.
