PDF exports can be created manually or automatically from authorised runfiles. The current export configuration at the moment of creating a PDF export is used. Changes to the configuration only apply to newly created PDF exports.
To access PDF export settings and file content configuration, go to Settings > Analysis results PDF. Note that only users with the admin role can access the settings and make changes to PDF settings and configuration.
Export settings
By default, automatic creation of PDF exports is disabled. Most laboratories only require a PDF export for specific runfiles (e.g. validation experiments) which can be generated manually and do not need automated PDF exports to be created in the export
/outbox
container, where most LIMS providers pick up the CSV export.
To enable the automatic PDF export creation, follow the steps below:
- In Analysis results PDF settings, toggle Enable automatic PDF export creation upon authorization to on.
- Click Save. Automatic PDF export is now enabled.
Be aware that the Analysis results PDF files that are automatically generated for every authorized analysis will be made available in the export
/outbox
container. Make sure your download script can handle this correctly.
File content configuration
The content of the Analysis results PDF export file can be defined and customized in Settings. The available configuration options are as follows:
-
Include results: Provides options on what extent of result information to include in the PDF export.
-
Include summary: Include the summary which will give you an overview of the assay results per sample.
-
Include details: Include the details that provide overview of each target and its result per sample.
-
Include audit trails: Include the audit trail which shows all edits made during the review of the analysis (for example, overruling a result or changing a Cq).
-
-
Include sample types: This section determines which sample types are relevant for your PDF export. For example, if you are only interested in the patient results, you would select only the patient samples. If you also need controls for validation purposes, you can select these as well.
-
Include controls: Include control samples in the export.
-
Include quantitative standards: Include quantitative standards (special samples with a known concentration) that are used in absolute quantitative PCR.
-
Include reference samples: Include samples that are used for reference in the analysis, where you look at how gene expression relates to known reference samples.
-
Include regular samples: Include regular test samples.
-
-
Include graphs: Add visualisation of graphs to the PDF export.
- Enable sample graphs: this will group the graphs per sample. Importantly, this only works for a single and not multi-plate analyses.
-
Amplification:
-
-
Chart scale: Linear or Logarithmic
-
Chart type: for each acquisition type (amplification (baseline corrected or amplification), endpoint (normalized or raw) or melt (melt peak or melt curve) analyses).
-
-
- End point: Normalized or Raw
-
Melt: Melt peak or Melt curve
