General
We're excited to announce the launch of FastFinder Analysis 4.12, Lab Management 1.12, Lab Engine 1.0 and Workflow 2.2. For Workflow, we added the ability to archive runs and we made the split between two applications called Workflow and Lab Engine.
In Analysis we enhanced the QC module with additional features and added support for relative quantification analyses. Additionally, we have introduced a proof-of-concept feature that allows users to create Assay Plugins directly from the PCR setup screen (limited to a specific number of instruments). Furthermore, we have incorporated support for the Mic qPCR IVD instrument.
Lastly, the entire FastFinder platform has been updated with the new Velsera design.
As always, it is feedback from you that informs our roadmap, and allows us to keep improving FastFinder, so we want to thank you for your continued suggestions. Don’t hesitate to let us know how we can improve FastFinder even further.

Workflow 2.2.1 (July 17, 2023)
New features
The focus for Workflow in the last release was on making the split between the Workflow (Wetlab) and the Lab Engine. Both applications were separated to create a better architectural structure that was required. It will not have a visible effect on the day-to-day usage of Workflow. By default, each environment will have access to Lab Engine. In case your laboratory has access to FastFinder workflow, access to this module can be set at user level under Team. On the Support page, both applications can be found with their individual version. From this release onwards, the release notes for both products will be split and can be accessed separately.
Improvements
Next to the split, some general improvements were made to features already introduced (partially) in the previous release(s).
In the last release, we introduced the pending instruments file window for uploading instrument files. As such providing a failsafe solution when something should go wrong with the automated upload. This window now shows a full-sized screen providing a better overview of any pending file(s) that are still available. The files are also shown in an overview table.
Furthermore, we focused on improving the Archived runs functionality within the Archive. Including the following improvements:
- Sorting and filtering improvements
- Runs with a failed status will also be available in the archive.
- The discard reason can now be found by clicking on the 'discarded' state in the right-hand top corner of the opened discarded run.
- The correct sample symbols are now showing in the overview and the filter.
The sample-to-result support was extended, and Workflow can now support the Sentinat200 instrument. Orders will be redirected from FastFinder to the instrument. When the different steps within the instrument are completed, the files related to this step are visualized within the workflow. In the end, the results are redirected to Analysis from where they can be authorized and sent out to the LIMS.
Fixed bugs
- Failed analysis after automatic handover of run files from the Sentinat 200
